Participants: 16 children. £30 per child. Accompanying adult free.
Ages: Under 16's. Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Maximum 1 adult to 3 children.
This series of sessions runs throughout the year. After you have completed the first session the following sessions you will have a choice of topics to cover. This allows you and your children to explore areas that interest you. Topics include; firecraft, cooking, animal tracks and signs, hunting (making hunting tools e.g. bow, spear, atlatl), traps and snares, shelter building, navigation, knife and axe use, carving projects, foraging, container construction, cordage and much more.
First session you will learn
- Knife and saw safety and techniques in carving and cutting skills.
- Shelter - Tarp use.
- Firelighting techniques.
- Back Country cooking.
- Leave no trace.
The course is suitable for.
Suitable for families. The adults will be expected to work with their children to complete tasks. Paying particular attention to knife, saw and axe use.
What to bring/wear
Bring a packed lunch and snacks. Waterproofs and outdoor clothing. Hot drinks are provided.
Gift Vouchers are posted out 1st class signed for. They are printed on high quality glossy card, ideal for a present and contain a unique voucher number. Buying a voucher does not reserve a place on any course. You will need to redeem the voucher using the voucher number and return a completed booking form to us. Once the booking form is returned and accepted by us, then your reservation for the course is secured. Booking is on a first come, first served basis. You may not get your preferred dates if you book late.
